ASTRO’s JinJin quickly became the talk of the town after his music agency released a short but substantial statement about his current situation with the South Korean military service. Ultimately, all kinds of reactions were posted on Online forums by the K-Netizens.
On June 2, ASTRO’s music agency, Fantiago, released an official statement via the group’s fan cafe. They announced that JinJin was granted an exemption following a thorough medical examination by the Military Manpower Administration. So, what is this all about?
The medical examination determined that the idol has an undisclosed autoimmune condition that made him unfit for the South Korean service. This is one of the first times that the music agency has addressed the idol’s condition.
“While his condition does not interfere with daily life, he requires regular hospital visits for examinations and ongoing management. Based on the medical opinion that it would be difficult for him to participate in military service under such circumstances, he has been granted an exemption from mandatory military duty.”
